Whenever you get any task as an employee, an assignment as a student or a project as a manager. The ultimate winning point is action. How you "EXECUTE" the idea. Let's examine what it takes to get the job done.

E-EXCELLENT Questions:

You need to develop this wonderful capability of asking visionary questions to yourself and your teammates. The questions that challenge each other ability to see the end yet bigger picture. I used to have a friend, working in Rotterdam now, who used to ask me so many questions and in those mindful questions I always found the solution. Because this technique develops new pathways in your brain.

X- X-ray:

Go deep into the process. 

The way doctors see everything in an X-Ray report and highlight the ongoing issue with the patient, as a manager/ people’s person, we also have to do the same. "Every 5 minutes of planning, saves 10 minutes of execution". You need to dig deep, dive deep into the ocean of processes, structure and the system. You should know where it would take longer, where would it create bottleneck and where would you just slip through the next phase. Map your opportunities, track them somewhere in your archive, notepad, your diary. Put things upside down, look out from different angles.

E- Elevate:

The workable idea.

When you find an anticipated Solution or a way that can even lead to a solution, an action you are about to take or see something getting shaped up, take it up for a review. By this I mean, have the idea reviewed by your line manager or senior to have a critical look. Because sometimes we are so much deep into the process that we are unable to see the downside of it and positive elements, though little, are driving us fast to the result while ignoring some quick yet simple fixes.

C- Cutting edge 

What different area you doing about it? Are you creating a difference with your creativity? What different pattern are you adopting to get this thing done? Did you look if that subject area or avenue has been explored by someone earlier? If so, are you doing anything different this time? Or let's put it this way, if parallel to this, multiple teams are doing the same drill, are you putting anything creative into it?

U- Unite:

 your peers and line manager. 

With this you get their agreement, or your can say their expert opinion before you give it final touch.  For this, you can ask a cross functional colleague to give you an idea or how does it look to him? With this you get your answer of "why are you doing this". You develop your logical reasoning to defend what you have developed or the course of action you are adopting.

T- Think Through:

Talk to your gut, it will never lie to you, because it is based on your past experiences. After covering all the above steps thoroughly, you have achieved a new level of problem solving and critical thinking, which is already one step higher than your previous failure. You just stretched your toes a little more and increased your height few inches taller. Well-done.

E- Explain: 

Finally take yourself on the other side of the table. If somebody explains it to you, what would be the best possible way for it. How would you like this to work for a layman. Prepare a presentation, give it to your colleague who can give you critical feedback on this.  

Take it step by step and you will surely get your tasks, ideas, projects done superbly.
